Whilst staying at Red Chilli Rest Camp, why not book our specially adapted open-air vehicle for a game drive? Price for a 4 hour game drive is $140 (up to 6 passengers) and includes driver, ferry crossing fees and Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide. Most visitors choose to explore the Delta area, on the north bank of the Nile, but being the largest conservation area in Uganda, Murchison Falls National Park has many other amazing areas to check out too. Your game drive area is flexible and other potential sectors to visit include Nyamasika Cliffs, Wangkwar & the Honeymoon track (South Bank). Please feel free to discuss with the Camp Management or your driver.
Red Chilli Rest Camp, Paraa, Murchison Falls National Park
06:30 or according to your individual preference, subject to availability
Depart from Red Chilli Rest Camp, and head towards the ferry crossing (just 700m away), if you have chosen to game-drive on the north bank. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the sunrise over the Nile.
The ferry usually departs at 07.00, although timing can be flexible, particularly in peak season. The crossing takes just 10 minutes but remember to look out for the many hippos and crocs in the water!
If you choose the delta area, you will game drive around the Buligi game tracks, which stretch between the Victoria and Albert Niles and down to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta. Most mammal and bird species may be viewed from here, although of course nothing is guaranteed. Game sightings regularly include lion, elephant, hippo, leopard, buffalo, hyena, warthog and various antelope. Please discuss your priorities with your ranger and he will do his best!
Stop for a break to enjoy a packed breakfast or coffee, which can be ordered from Red Chilli Rest Camp the night before. In the delta area, our game drive vehicle usually stops at the hippo pool, where there are beautiful views and usually hippo a-plenty, as well as public conveniences!
The game drive is not over yet – still keep an eye out for more game along the way!
Cross the Nile and head back to Red Chilli Rest Camp for a well-deserved rest and maybe some lunch!
From only US$140 for the vehicle.
If there are more than 6 people, please send us an email and we can book an additional vehicle for you.
