For Red Chilli accommodation or Red Chilli tour reservations, we require an advance deposit of 50% within 3 days of booking, with the balance to be cleared no later than 21 days before check-in. If no payment has been received within 3 days of making your reservation and you have not provided proof of payment to Red Chilli, then your booking may be released, and your trip spaces/rooms made available to other guests without further communication. For bookings made within 21 days of arrival, full payment must be received within 24 hours to confirm the reservation. This update reflects our revised cancellation policy, under which cancellations made within 21 days of check-in incur a 100% cancellation fee.

Cash payments are accepted between 7am and midnight daily at Red Chilli Hideaway, Kampala or Red Chilli Rest Camp, Murchison Falls. Currencies accepted are Uganda Shillings and US Dollars only (US Dollar notes must be printed after 2013). Payments should be made within 3 days of the reservation or within 24 hours, if your booking date is less than 21 days away. Please note that due to bank regulations, we are only able to accept notes that have no tears/rips or marks/stamps on them.

Visa/MasterCard payments may be made in person, in Uganda Shillings or US Dollars at Red Chilli Hideaway, Kampala or Red Chilli Rest Camp, Murchison Falls. Alternatively, please let us know if you would like to make a credit/debit card payment online and we will send you the online payment link (all online card payments can be made in any currency).

Notes on Card Payments:

• Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cards are accepted. Card payments do not incur any kind of surcharge, so for travellers paying from overseas this is the preferred payment option.
• Please do not leave payment by card until the last possible moment – sometimes the network can be unreliable and credit card facilities will be temporarily disabled. In this event, it is incumbent on the client to make alternative cash payments and Red Chilli will not be held responsible for any additional costs or delays.

Bank deposits are accepted into our Uganda Shillings or US Dollars bank accounts held with Diamond Trust Bank, Uganda.

Notes on bank deposits:

• It is beneficial for you to pay US Dollars into our USD account and/or UGX into our UGX account. Likewise, you will get a preferential rate if you pay in US Dollars for trip payments & accommodation (as they are priced in dollars).
• If you can only pay Shillings for a Dollar item, or vice versa, then you must confirm the appropriate forex rate with our office before making the deposit.
• Please make the payment within 3 days of making your reservation, or within 24 hours if your planned arrival/trip departure date is less than 21 days away.
• Please retain your cash/cheque deposit slip as proof of payment and provide it to our reservations office so that we can track the payment and confirm your booking.

Bank transfers are accepted into our Uganda Shillings or US Dollars bank accounts held with Diamond Trust Bank, Uganda.

Notes on domestic bank transfers:

• Please see the note on USD and UGX forex rates (under Bank Deposits above) when selecting which account to make payment into.
• For bank transfers within Uganda, please make the transfer within 3 days of making the reservation or within 24 hours if the planned booking date is less than 21 days away.

Notes on international bank transfers:

• For international bank transfers, kindly arrange payment within 3 days of making your reservation, provided your check-in date is more than 21 days away. Please note that we are unable to accept international transfers within 14 days of arrival as these payments may take up to 14 days to reach our account.
• Please retain your transfer form instructions as proof of payment and email it to our reservations office so that we can track and confirm your booking.
• Please be prepared to accept responsibility for all bank charges. This includes any bank charges deducted beyond any estimates provided by your own bank. In this event, we will contact you and let you know the shortfall received on the understanding that you will clear the balance prior to departure/upon arrival. Please note that international transfers can be very costly in bank fees and will only be determined when we contact you to tell you what was charged by our bank. If your bank account is not a Dollar account you could face hefty fees due to routing banks used to send the money to Uganda.  For this reason we strongly recommend payments by card, which incur no extra charges (see above).
